We went here to celebrate Mothers Day( a few days early) and booked the Friday evening as had entertainment with Simon Morten.we have been many times before and always had a good experience with food and staff. We were greeted warmly when we got there and shown to our table. All waiting staff very very and happy. We ordered the 19 euros pp set menu. The starters were a platter of curry puffs, mini spring rolls, shrimp roll , chicken pieces and satay chicken. The satays were freezing cold so we had to send them back and everything else was very underwhelming especially the chicken strips which seemed to have been cooked beforehand and then re/heated. Satays came back hot and they said sorry. Mains came about half an hour later which was fine. Again all the dishes were very average and not a lot of flavour. We had duck beast in a fruit sauce which was very fatty and hadn’t been rendered down at all, the prawns with basil and chilli were ok and the pad Thai was unrecognizable as a pad Thai. Dessert was frozen vienetta which was fine and we had a bottle of house white. The entertainment was great and staff very efficient which was just as well as the food was such a let down compared to previous visits and take aways. Wasn’t as busy as usual so don’t know what happened. A 9 out of 10 for the service and entertains atmosphere but sadly a 5 out of 10 for the actual food. Won’t be visiting here for a good while. Shame as it very local to us and the owner is lovely. However, a big part of going out for dinner is the food and every dish was under whelming.

Have been to this restaurant previously and always been happy, however, last night we waited and waited to order and were eventually told only the “lady” had to take the orders. No sign of the lady whatsoever so in despair we paid for our drinks and left. They clearly were very understaffed and yet were still piling people which just aggravated the situation.

So friendly, fitted us in on a busy Thursday. Lovely menu, lots of choices including for kids, and our food was awesome. I had a hot and sour soup and special house noodles which were so delicious! Set menu prices great too. Highly recommended.

Food quality always consistent. Staff very friendly. Hello to Joanne and Mary. Mixed meat Borzoi with rice is our go to dish. Could eat it every night!
