So many amazing options I honestly was overwhelmed. Ended up getting the blueberry crumble yogurt. It was delicious and so refreshing with chunks of granola crumble and berries. The consistency reminded me more of an icecream than yogurt- which I was pleased about. Two negative comments which contributed to the star deduction. One is that the size was border line a joke. I am not one to need a large portion of icecream but there was all of 3 bites in this cup for $3.70. Yum Yums (down the street from here portion was way more reasonable for the same price point. We stopped by Marita's last night on the way back home to Stone Harbor from Ocean City. We tried to stop last season but they were closed. Last night was our night to see what all the hype was about. Parking was a breeze but the line was long! We arrived around 10pm, I was shocked at how long the line was. As I said it was our first time there, the menu was a bit overwhelming. They offer everything and anything that has to do with ice cream. They also offer a ton of flavors! From hard to soft serve. My wife went with rocky road and I went with banana. The atmosphere of the venue is fantastic. I appreciate the classic ice cream shop aesthetic, which fits beautifully with its surroundings. It's conveniently located on the main street, just outside of town, so it avoids the wild chaos typically found in the center of it all. The clientele mainly consists of families and children, creating a pleasant and relaxed vibe. I also like how they package the ice cream in cups with a round plastic lid, making it easy to take home or enjoy while sitting on one of the many benches available on-site. This place has quickly become one of my favorite ice cream spots in New Jersey, if not my absolute favorite across the country.
This ice cream is so so good. Nothing beats homemade ice cream. There is a queue out front and you must wear a mask while in the queue. The line was pretty looking but my daughter went in by herself and was able to bring out ice cream for all four of us spoo I recommend just sending in 1 person. Ice cream in cones are placed in cup first shi it was all easy for her to carry. Lots of flavors from which to choose. All the normal ones plus some specialty ones. I would definitely come back here. Hands down the best ice cream shop in Sea Isle City! I've been coming here for years and it's a tradition in my family. We all LOVE Maritas! Order anything on the menu, you can't go wrong. This is a cash only place, but they do have an ATM inside. They hand dip all of their ice cream and the flavors are so unique and delicious. We've never had a bad flavor! The one downside is the price. It's a beach town so I understand ice cream is expensive but it's a little too pricy for my liking.
During both of our visits to Maritas, they got my order wrong. The girl taking orders seemed indifferent and careless. How can you forget the brownie on a brownie sundae? On our second trip, I explicitly ordered three milkshakes with whipped cream. I think I confused her when I mentioned topping it with Oreo. It’s frustrating when you encounter such a lack of attention to detail.
Paid $8.49 for vanilla soft serve blended with heath bar in a small cup (think tiny hotel coffee cup). Line is NEVER shorter than 20 people. Why go here to wait at least 30 minutes? You can go to Scoops on 83rd, get your ice cream in 1/5 of the time, and get MORE ice cream for LESS money! Marita's prices are highway robbery.
