Although we had eaten at the Markgrafler Winzerstruben several times in the past, last weekend, the experience was quite unfortunate. Although Badenweiler was empty and it was still early, the waitress motioned hastily that the only available table was a closed-off alcove, off the entrance door. The table or mini-booth looked like a tiny toilet or box ready for shipment. Even for a romantic tête-à-tête, I doubt it would work. This was not what I had in mind as a setting for the beginning of the evening. But the waitress did not really care at all for a/my response and focussed on fixing the napkins. Even in Badenweiler, hospitality and customer experience can be trashed.
Wow, what a treat that was. The staff was super friendly on arrival. Jorge took care of us for the evening and he was amazing (made us smile). We were looking for a healthy meal and he talked about various possibilities. We chose both the chicken salad and it was delicious, so tasteful! We'll be back when we have time. Pete and Abbie
Lovely, attentive service and delicious food. Trout appetizer with amazing (wood oven? bread, butter and horseradish sauce started a great meal. Very nice wine selection and the Rinder Rouladen was just like my mom makes (with carrots mashed potatoes! . We sat in the Hof and it was the most beautiful setting with candles heaters
Food was excellent! Many decisions. The ambience of the restaurant was fantastic! Owner Jöerg was nice to show us the interior of her wine cellar. He was also very helpful and patient to explain us about the menu and various options. Would recommend to anyone who is willing to spend the time and enjoy good food and business.
