Visited the cafe whilst waiting for my MOT to be completed. I ordered a pot of tea and also got a soft drink can for later (I was offered a glass). As I approached the till behind which there were 2 members of staff, I waited a good minute to be acknowledged while the staff discussed someone’s uncle, there was no smile, good morning, hello, nothing…rude! As I ordered I asked for skimmed milk, this was not acknowledged by the server but the girl behind her reached for full fat, I asked again for skimmed, she poured the skimmed into a small jug but didn’t acknowledge me in any way then proceeded to balance the pot, the milk jug inside the empty cup and the cup on the counter which is ridged as...
I visit this café at least once a week when I am in Widnes doing shopping. The food is of good quality but the service is dreadful. They have 2 coffee machines but Ive only ever seen one being used when there's a long queue. They seem to be short of staff too, even at busy periods. The cakes, scones etc. are quite expensive and the portions are small. M S need to up their game. We ordered 3 teacakes last week and waited 20 mins for them to arrive. The girl brought one portion of butter and when I asked for another I got a very negative look
Called on a Tuesday lunch time they were not overly busy but no one was clearing the tables so it was a difficult to find a table unless you moved things. The table we eventually got was very sticky and we had to clean it ourselves. Food was delivered quickly and was tastey though I would have expected a small salad with the toastie considering the price. Keeping the place cleared and the tables clean would improve things greatly
The last 2 times we have been they have had no eggs (shop attached to it sells them) this limits the breakfast menu which is already very limited. Was advised they could do Salmon with the toast but would have to charge for the scrambled eggs despite not having any.Toasties very overpriced compared to other cafes and always very little staff on.Think I will be sticking with Tesco at least they have what’s on the menu available.

Went here yesterday with family. Had to queue up to order for over 20mins. Only one person serving. Tables not cleared so had to do it ourselves. Food and coffees were ok. Ordered a further pizza for my daughter and had to chase kitchen for it after 15mins ! Need more staff.
Popped in for a quick lunch whilst spending a few days in the area. Chose here as you always know what you are getting at M S and toilets etc are clean and accessible.Lovely toasted sandwich and hot cuppa all served with a smile.
Do most of our food shopping in MS for good quality products, this also goes for the lovely snacks and coffee served by wonderful staff in the widnes venue. Please is very clean and tidy always welcoming.
my recent experience was via the internet,. looking at suits shoes and jackets etc theres a large choice of goods and varied prices to suit everyones needs

Very helpful staff who went out of their way to serve and assist me. Very tasty scone and hot chocolate. Clean tables and surroundings.
