The seems to be an insider tipp. The Marktplatz in Appenzell is small but very cozy and their cooking is great. They always have special menus. It is not the cheapest way to lunch or dinner, but surely the most friendly one. Be sure to try out their famous tartar It 's delicious. Also keep in mind that on weekends you should do a reservation.

Dinner here at a stay in the charming city of Appenzell. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We were the only English-speaking group in the restaurant, but the staff made us welcome: Would recommend to eat here and generally stay in Appenzell.

If you are ever in Appenzell, you need to visit the marketplace. If you are not in Appenzell, you should go so you can visit the marketplace. The food is of course delicious. The place is cozy. The decoration is fantastic. The owner is so charming!
