Marlay House Irish Pub

We visited Marlay House on Labor Day evening, and it was surprisingly busy for a Monday. Fortunately, we found seating at the bar without any hassle. The service was excellent, and the staff offered some great recommendations for drink specials that complemented our selections nicely. Since it’s a pub, don’t expect fancy drinks, but they do have a solid variety of Irish beers and standard liquor choices. Now, onto the highlight: their Fish and Chips are arguably the best in town. For my main dish, I ordered the Warm Brussels Sprouts Salad, and oh my goodness, I couldn’t stop eating it! Just a heads up—if you’re on a date or out with friends, try not to smile too much, as the dressing contains a hefty amount of black pepper mixed with vinaigrette. I ended up with black pepper flakes stuck in my teeth by the end of the meal, which was a bit embarrassing. Fortunately, since I'm married and my husband has seen me without makeup, having pepper in my teeth wasn’t the worst thing he had encountered. I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts and the bread pudding! They also offer a great selection of drinks. However, I feel that their entrees don't quite measure up to some of the other gems in Downtown Decatur. That said, they are open late and make a good burger, so we find ourselves coming back quite often.

two days ago was the first time we went to this place. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the generous service, with the finest meal and booze and with the comfortable payment. We will definitely return there again. Réservez une table maintenant

Super friendly staff. Great craft cocktails. Reasonably priced food. The chips (which are homemade fries w/blue cheese dipping sauce) are addicting. Outdoor seating available (add'l added during Covid)

They took great Kovid precautions with outside seat and all tables were far more than 6ft apart, I loved it! So good beer and food, I recommend trying the fish and chips!
