During our stay in Murphysboro to help our son move into SIU, we discovered this restaurant on Yelp. Initially, we hesitated to go due to some mixed reviews, but we decided to give it a try—and we’re so glad we did! The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food quality was exceptional. We enjoyed the all-you-can-eat fish fry and the smoked chicken, both of which were delicious. Be sure to order the broccoli salad and potato salad as sides; they were amazing! For our appetizer, we opted for onion rings, and they were among the best we've ever had. If you're searching for an authentic BBQ and country dining experience in a laid-back setting, Mase's is the perfect choice. We can't wait to return!

Food had very little flavor. We got the sampler and the ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork all had just the flavor of the base meat. It was really disappointing food-wise, and the sides you could tell came from canned goods and were also mediocre. Would recommend most other restaurants in southern Illinois over this one. Smoked pork steak was way over cooked. Very leathery and though. Ribs were also very dry. The bbq sauces were awesome! The spicy one needs some chicken wings on the menu! Service was very good. Stay away from slow cooked meats if you’re used to juicy bbq. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Great spot with delicious food! I dined in for dinner and found the prices to be around $10–20 per person. The food was rated 4 out of 5, service was excellent at 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere was also enjoyable with a rating of 4.
