Without a doubt, this place serves the best fresh mozzarella in North Jersey. The roasted marinated red peppers are exceptional, and the sandwiches are of fantastic quality. You’ll find everything you would expect from a genuine Southern Italian deli here. I make a long drive every time because I used to frequent the brothers at Montclair before they left. They were the founders of Belgiovine in Montclair, and while the new tenants try to mimic their model, they just don’t compare. That’s why I’ve been making the trek to Kenilworth for years. You guys are doing an amazing job!
Very good sandwhiches... I travel around New Jersey I am a commercial appliance repair tech and visit alot of restaurants.. I was at another store and found this place... I love Italian food... So I went in the aroma of Italian food in the air is most pleasant. I order a chicken cutlet w/ fresh moz, roasted peppers, little balsamic vinegar. Amazing sandwich the bread had the right hardness on the outside and soft in the inside.
You might want to visit the restaurant in person and place your order at the counter. It may take a bit longer, but the interaction with the staff leads to a much better sandwich. Just a note... Overall, this place has a classic, everyday vibe. There’s a hot table with about five dishes available, so if you’re hungry, you won’t have to wait long. The food is of good quality, and they offer fresh salads and cheese.
Really I’d give this place 4.5 stars if I could. Everything I’ve had has been fresh and delicious. Great classic Italian gourmet deli. Maybe my only gripe is that they don’t have some normal deli items like potato chips and stuff like that. I don’t want tarrales with my sandwich I want chips. Also more expensive than most places but the product is very good.

Wow! I can't believe I waited so long to try Massimo's food. Everything has been incredible! I've already been there three times since my first visit last week, haha. The salads, sandwiches, and chicken are all fantastic—just like something I would make at home. The staff are also super friendly and sweet. What a hidden gem!
This is where you come for your Italian food. Good selection for take out, fresh and frozen. The staff knows almost everyone by name. Just don't be that guy who doesn't know what he wants cause with the 3 person limit we want to go in and get out thank you.
