We visited Maureens on a busy holiday (Juneteenth) and were seated at the bar within ten minutes. The food was home cooked and delicious, with large portions just as expected for breakfast. The service had an old school diner style and was very friendly. The coffee was good and the atmosphere was filled with cow decorations. Maureens has been a staple in Central Suffolk for years and if you're looking for breakfast in the Smithtown area, this is the place to go. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Overall, my experience was underwhelming. I found the food to be quite bland and could have used some salt. I ordered the #3 special and was particularly disappointed with the French toast, which lacked any flavor—no cinnamon, no butter, no vanilla—just zero taste. On the positive side, the service was good, and the atmosphere was decent, although it can get quite noisy at times. In summary, I wasn't impressed and prefer Nappy's Nook in Nesconset much more.
I've been visiting this restaurant for quite some time, and I really love the food and the excellent service. I typically start my day with their chocolate chip pancakes and bacon for breakfast. I've also come in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious burger and fries. It's definitely one of the best breakfast and brunch spots on Long Island. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it yet!
The best oatmeal in the world, without a doubt. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I have read a few reviews mentioning that non-white customers are not treated well there, but in my experience as a first-time visitor, I did not encounter any negativity. I am from Pakistan and everyone, both staff and customers, made me feel welcome and accommodated. Réservez une table maintenant
The breakfast at this Long Island restaurant is absolutely the best around. The daily specials are delicious and everything is always prepared perfectly. Be prepared to wait, especially on weekends, as they only accept cash and do not take reservations. But after just one bite, you'll see that the wait is definitely worth it.
