It's different .Let's be clear on that . No tikka masalas or jalfrezis here . What they do have is Appams and flaky Parottas the sort you get in Kerala . And crisp dosas and vadas with a smattering of chuntney and sambar. The Nilgiri curry is to die for . The decor is ok , could do with a more ethnic atmosphere. Service is excellent ,food is great , what more does one need?

And crispy cans and vases with a crushed aunt and velvet. The Nilgiri Curry is for dying. The decor is ok, could do with an ethnic atmosphere. Service is excellent, food is great, what do you need more?

Quite honestly the only Indian place worth eating at in Sheffield. Incredibly authentic, great service and portion sizes. If you’re desi and new to the city looking for homey food, go here straight away. Would be amazing if they did breakfast/brunch menu as well.

dinner at maveli. reasonable number of guests there, but the staff was friendly and service was fast. Unfortunately, dosa crepe was a bit soft for my lust (would go for masala dosa instead of mysore masala in future) but otherwise was eating okay.

we found ourselves on the way to another and are so glad we stopped. absolutely excellent South Indian cuisine, beautiful personal and beautiful atmosphere. will come back in any case!
