I am embarassed by how much I love this company. My spouse and I both work very demanding jobs and struggle to muster up the energy at the end of the day to cook. Our diets had become increasingly dependant on takeout, and I was feeling really guilty about not providing my family with healthy, home-cooked meals. Then I discovered Maven Meals. I 'm obsessed. I was given a gift card from some friends and this is the absolute worst place ever when it comes to technology and logistics. The first time I ordered there was a “glitch” in the system and my order was 2 weeks later than the date I specified. Second time I try to order, the system doesn’t recognize my account and lost my gift card. Customer service is friendly but I spend so much time dealing with them and their system, it would be way faster to go to the grocery store. Food is good but grossly overpriced and not great for working moms. Not enough variety and nothing for kids. Gift card was $200, it covered 3 meals for a family of 3. ORIGINAL: This service is very misleading. Google classifies it as a “restaurant,” but it’s actually a delivery service. Unfortunately, our family lives too far from the location to have delivery be an option. Even if we could get it delivered, we live on private property that isn’t accessible. Our packages have to be sent to our PO Box, which is also quite a distance from our home. I was considering trying this place since it’s on my route home from work and one of our son’s activities, but it seems that won’t be possible. I really wish this place were an actual restaurant where you could dine in. Google also needs to update its information to clarify that this is not a restaurant!
**Original Review (3 stars):** Unfortunately, Maven Meals doesn't deliver to my zip code, even though I live only 30 minutes from their facility. When I picked up my order, they only gave me half of it, which I only realized after getting home. This forced me to make a second trip, and I didn't receive any compensation (like a coupon or discount) for the mistake, which ended up costing me an extra hour of time and gas. The meals themselves are decent, but generally too salty. The packaging is passable. It’s a great concept, but the execution and options could be better. I'm starting a very busy year at work, and started using Maven meals to order my lunches about a month ago. I was worried the portion sizes would be too small, but they are just about right (I also supplement with other food that requires little prep- fruit, carrots, sweet potatoes- throughout the day). In addition to saving me at least a half hour a day, it's been an unexpected mental weight off to have one less thing to do. Very reasonably priced. I'm also able to stay vegan and accomodate my basil allergy. I really appreciate the wide variety and detailed lists of ingredients.

Original review I ordered a whole eggnog cheesecake for Christmas dessert and it's not worth serving. When I opened the box it was obviously overcooked as the edges were brown, the middle of the cheesecake had sunk, and you could see visible chunks from the batter not being well mixed. Tried a bit just to see and indeed it wasn't creamy and smooth like a cheesecake should be. The flavor was good though, which is the only reason it's not 1 star.
Maven Meals has truly been a lifesaver for us. The food is consistently delicious, and ordering online with delivery is incredibly easy. I always enjoy planning the menu for the week.
