Came with my Dad for a Father 's day lunch. Was easy to book online on the day and we were seated quickly on arrival.I started with haggis pakora and Dad had garlic mushrooms. Both were edible and tasted okay.For the main my Dad had lasagne. This seemed to have just been reheated in the microwave but my Dad ate half.I ordered what was described on the menu as traditional roast, with all the trimmings What actually arrived was 3 small slices of roast beef which looked like it had been overcooked by about 6 hours and then left I the fridge to dry out for a week or so. Under that was a couple of roast potatoes that had obviously came out of a packet frozen and simply heated in the oven. Dry and...
Visited McChristies with a group of 12 friends and without exception we were all freezing. We complained to Staff who said this had been reported to the owner who said that the heating couldn’t cope with the low temperature. I have never heard such nonsense in all of my life. Depending on the thermostat setting the boiler will fire to maintain that temperature irrespective of ambient temperature. The food was gorgeous and the service excellent but myself and the rest of my party won’t be returning as it was really uncomfortable due to the lack of heating.
My partner and I dined here on Saturday 11/09/2021. I had the steak pie which was extremely tender and very tasty! My partner had the beef burger which he really enjoyed. Fordessert we had chocolate fudge cake and lemon meringue pie. Another two very well presented and lovely dishes. Well done to the talented chefs and the attentive staff who all worked very hard on such a busy night. Would definitely recommend McChristies without any hesitation!
The service and food was exceptional.I was so surprised by the quality of a small village restaurant. Prices absolutely on point. The food was presented well and tasted fabulous.The staff are very friendly, but not constantly asking you about your meal, which for me is an absurd bonus.So glad I found this gem and will definitely visit again and spread the word.All credit to the staff, especially in these difficult times.YOU ARE AWESOME Réservez une table maintenant
Prices are shocking now for the quality of food. Food was nice with the exception of fish inedible due to so many bones it it) however even the price of one cup of tea which you get a small cup water and one tea bag. Why no pot? Service was great. Max was really friendly. However I’ll be in no rush to return. Not what it used to be unfortunately.
Never been before had the chicken tempura starter which was lovely followed by the chicken burger which was crispy and fresh no room left for dessert . My son had the same starter and fish and chips for mains which the portion was huge was presently suprised great service and food will be back soon
