Mccurdy's Dining Room

It's a small place. Pretty cosy, and a panoramic view of the lake. Their menu changes so check it out before you go there. I had three items, wonton nachos, pork tenderloin with maple bacon jam, and the maple pecan bread pudding. Everything was amazing.I would also suggest getting a reservation before you come up. They only had three four wait staff. Regardless, I sat down knowing I sat in the middle of a rush for them. And prepared mentally to wait. If you're in a rush in Cape Breton your gonna have a bad time.That being said, five mins and I made my drink order\food order, 7 mins later drink arrived, 5 mins later starter arrived, 10 min later main arrived.I feel everything was fairly price...

Found the bad egg in Baddeck!The dinner was absolutely horrendous.The seafood stew didn't provide any sauce, bouillon or other moisture, just dried up mussels, scallops and fish, either yesterday's or the cook threw out the stew and then heated it up. Served on a solid blob of rice, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The menu said all dished were served with a choice fries, rice etc. But we were charged for the extra fries we had to order since the stew didn't mention the rice. For fear of intoxication, unable to eat it.I got a fish and chips, which was fried a dark brown, no lemon slice, the sauce and side of mayonnaise was not good. Ate the fish as it appeared fresh. My wife and I had our dinner here last night. Our seat was by the window, I doubt I've been in a restaurant that could beat McCurdey's for scenery! Penny, our waitress was hard working and friendly, she also enhanced our experience. As to the food, it was very good. I had a New York strip steak and my wife had fish and chips and we both agree that while it might not be the very best we've ever had it was damn good and we both were very happy punters at the end of the night.

We generally liked the Silver Dart for the quiet and reasonably priced accomodations, but the breakfast was sub-standard. No a la carte was available. The buffet was $20 and for that one expects more than powdered scrambled eggs and stale fried potatoes. No choice of meats (only bacon). Only plain white or brown bread and some muffins, no pastry. Coffee was watery. Only apple juice. No cheeses, no butter, only margarine. Réservez une table maintenant

I cant rave about this place enough!!! Most friendly staffed restaurant that I've ever been too, they were super busy, still got served in a very timely manner! Beautiful view and the presentation of their food is phenomenal.

We spent two weeks in Cape Breton and McCurdy's provided us with the best combination of starters, main course, dessert and service we encountered on our Trip. Did I mention the amazing view and ambiance? Bravo!!!

We had a wonderful meal. Our waitress was attentive and the view was spectacular! The maple/curry seafood dish was heavenly and the maple whiskey salmon was delicious!

Found this place while doing the Nova Scotia seafood trail. Food was delicious and service was great. We had a beautiful view of the lake. Couldn't ask for better! Réservez une table maintenant

The McCurdy's dining room is located at the Silver Dart Lodge. Very convenient if staying there. Enjoyed a light dinner that was very good.
