This restaurant is one of only two actual McMansions in the country. During our road trip last fall, we made a stop at both locations. The other McMansion, The Gore House in Freeport, ME, was unfortunately closed, as the entire town was shut down due to the Lewiston incident. It was fascinating to see how well the franchise was incorporated into the original structure without making major alterations. My wife and I ordered takeout, opting for sweet tea and fries, which are the only consistently good items on the menu.
I have always wanted to go in and check out this McDonald's for the decor experience, and I finally got the chance. I could see coming back on a nice summer day. It doesn't feel like being in a restaurant, but more like a cozy country cottage. I enjoyed it.Parking: See it grab it.
This restaurant is located in a historical landmark and is housed in a beautiful preserved building. McDonald's has done a commendable job of honoring and maintaining the original structure while still serving delicious food.
I have never seen a McDonald's as beautiful as this one. It felt like being in a mansion, so clean and with great service. I wish there were more locations like this, especially in Jersey.
