I ordered scrambled eggs, and they just gave me over hard eggs instead. The pork chops were also overcooked. The hashbrown patty that I got (even though I asked for the cottage fries) was pretty good. The pancakes were also pretty good. However, the service was really, really slow, and they also didn't ask me or the person I came with if we wanted refills. Not to mention the wait time as well, we waited around 30 something minutes to get our food. The food is outstanding, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, and I think everyone in the area should be aware of McKay's Country Kitchen because the food is truly exceptional, especially Bill's Mega Omelette. I noticed there aren't any pictures of the menu online, so I've included some here for everyone to enjoy. I hope this inspires at least one person reading this to give McKay's amazing food a try.
I recently went on a trip to Cooper, Texas, and stopped for breakfast at McKay's in Commerce, Texas. It was an incredible experience—definitely the most country-style kitchen I've encountered! The breakfast was the best I've ever had. I highly recommend you all stop by if you get the chance. Kudos to Terry and Robert for an amazing meal!
My wife and I went there for breakfast this morning and the portions are huge be sure to go there hungry!I ordered the fully loaded large (aka 2 egg) omelet and hash browns and my wife ordered the eggs, bacon biscuits with a bowl of gravy. Food was good, served warm and with a smile.Great place to go for breakfast!

Love the patty melt and chili. Salmon Patty special is also great. Add in turnip greens with green hot pepper sauce even better. Plus get a small dessert with the daily special.
