Lunch for 3 on mothers day. We didn't have a booking but were seated promptly. There was a wait to place our order and on food but this was to be expected on a such a busy day. Milkshakes were ok but food was TERRIBLE. We ordered a chicken schnitzel BLT and the squid rings. Both were processed, freezer aisle quality. This was EXTREMELY disappointing considering the location of the cafe. Ocean not even an hour away and surrounded by the freshest farm produce in Australia. For the squid I got an enormous bowl of greasy chips and 4 reconsituted squid rings. The BLT lacked any flavour and was stuffed with a huge chunk of processed chicken which didn't get touched. No one asked us if we enjoyed o...

We arrived around 9 am for breakfast and there was only one other table with a family of 4 waiting for their meal. We ordered, and 35 minutes later our easy quick breakfast arrive. To make it worse, everyone meals came out over a 10 minute period. I just don't know this place would cope on a busy weekend, considering we were there on a Thursday morning. The food was "ordinary", not bad, just ordinary. The milk shakes were close to room temperature, not icy cold. So many nice eating places in Morpeth, but this place needs to up its game and not rely on "nice views". Doubt I will return. I am a local and always love to show off out wonderful eateries in Morpeth and Maitland

As other reviewers have noted. The service .........very slow to get menus, almost an hour for meals to come out . not in a busy time of the day.Water, we had to ask twice. We had a gourmet salmon and avocado sandwich. Just a few pieces of each between slices of basic white bread with some red onion $13.00. very strange BLT, with a slab of chicken snitzel in it. All up a disappointing experience given the plethora cafes in Morpeth. You can see why this one is ranked 13 out of 14. No need to put this on your list.....sorry

This place has changed hands a few times over the years and the previous couple of identities were less than pleasant. So arrived on this occasion to try again with some trepidation. Other reviews are very variable as well. Was happy with the service and food on this occasion. Cream teas had good scones but "cream" was more like dairy whip. The raisin toasts were OK with coffee and real tea. The views out the back to the river are still the highlight though a little obscured these days by the brush. Réservez une table maintenant

Terrible service. I'd like to give my opinion on the food but I can't as we walked out before ordering! They sat us down and then never came back and preceded to serve and take orders from people who came in after us. We heard them telling everyone it was going to be long waits even though it was 1.30pm and the restaurant wasn't full. Decided to try another Savannah Cafe down the road which had great service, cheaper food, and a better menu

A friend and I went here for morning tea last month. It has taken over what used to be Crisidas Cafe ( which used to be horrible) and we were very impressed. Coffee and cake was very nice, spacious seating and a view over the river at Morpeth. Staff also friendly and attentive. Can't wait to sample their home made scones which I am told are the best in the region.

This cafe in the main street of Morpeth overlooks the river. First impression from across the street is that it must be small however when you enter you see it opens out on the Riverside and is really spacious. The service and food were great and we will definitely visit again.

My partner and I went to this cafe for breakfast on a Thursday morning. We had to go and get the waitress to come take our order and then she proceeded to call us pet names like "sweetie" as she was taking our order. Food was average at best. Réservez une table maintenant

My daughter, granddaughter & I visited this cafe for breakfast today. The food was very nice & the view of the river (and the lizards below lol) was superb! What a nice setting for a catch-up surrounded by gorgeous decor. Well worth a visit
