Meleket is the MOST AUTHENTIC, rich Ethiopian Cuisine that you will be able to find throughout the entire DMV. They are warm, welcoming, and will assist you from your food and premium drinks from beginning to the end of service. Most of the time you will see the owner serving and not even know that SHE is the owner, very humble and all about preserving the culture for those that would like to have a classic, Ethiopian, traditional experience. This restaurant is a hidden best kept secret. From the outside you will look at the restaurant and think of it, this looks like a small place, but once you enter it is super spacious looks like royalty inside, crown molding, richly tiled ceilings, super spacious, beautiful splashes, textiles, and an amazing centerpiece bar. You will not be disappointed, everyone of the diaspora goes here for a full experience. You will even see the arrangement for buna (Ethiopian coffee) immediately when you walk in with the traditional settings for their coffee ceremony. I have been her 5 times already since I was referred here and will come here the rest of my life! Yes it is amazing and the food is magnificent!!! I am in food heaven here! Good reviews for this place. Wanted to enjoy something different than the standard thing near the hospital. This place was just the ticket. We were able to relax and enjoy delicious food and a beautiful beer in a small place that serves all dishes on a large dish separated by rolling of Injera bread. No utensils made it so nice to eat with our hands. Simply roll a little spongy flat thin bread and use it to get the food and scoop it in! Fantastic! And sooo very tasteful. Guilty-free food. My sister and I shared a meat and a veggie combo for two. We were so filled! It's good that we don't try to fit an appetizer too! We will definitely return and recommend it to our friends!
Absolutely such a beautiful experience! My children and I decided to try something they had not yet, and I'm so glad we chose this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and your food was healthy. I wish I could eat it every day! Maybe I have to go back today and I couldn't be serious anymore. I would definitely suggest eating here, the experience was ever so great! The people there were also very informative, patient and friendly! Great food (lots of it) and a great atmosphere. Soft African saxophone playing the background and a conversationally dark ambiance. We got the lamb plate and the veggie combo. Great pairing for a sample of everything. Highly recommend it for first time Ethiopian diners.
