We hadn't been to this restaurant before and it was in our Shire so thought we would pay it a visit. Monica was very welcoming which was nice but the food did not live up to any standard. It was rather plain. The special friend rice was dry with no flavour and had 3 prawns on top of the rice and some shredded BBQ pork. We asked for "hot" lemon grass chilli squid and there was absolutely no chilli in the dish. Monica apologised later and said she had put it on the list but the chef had forgotten about it. My partner and I try to frequent this restaurant on a regular basis. The food is delicious. We are slowly making our way through the menu - we have our favourtie dishes that we always order, and we pick 4 new dishes each time we visit. On the occasions that we dine in, we always add a take away order to our meal. The service is amazing. The owner is always so happy and excited to see not only us, but all her regular and new customers. The wait staff are always friendly and helpful. We've been able to joke around and laugh with them just the same as we can with the owner. Looking for some Vietnamese lunch on Sunday, googled and found this little gem. Lateish Sunday afternoon we were the only customers, and decided to sit down for lunch instead of takeaway. Monica, our very talkative host, looked after us - we both had Bun Cha and have to say it took me straight back to the streets of the old quarter in Hanoi. One word of warning - if you like spicy I would suggest that you ask Monica to put the chilli to the side (not mixed in with the sauce) as they are very hot. Monica is very attentive if not a little talkative but very obviously proud of her restaurant. We will be back.
Been a customer for years now, apart from being convenient in location the food had never ever been a negative. Fantastic dishes, wide selection, fast to prepare (excluding busy times of course) and we always are impressed with what we've paid for. Monica and her staff are always pleasant, and we are remembered even though at times our visits are far apart. Highly recommended for no fuss dining, with old fashioned service that is missing in the big name restaurants. Réservez une table maintenant
Placing the order by phone was pleasant, picking the food up was easy, but the flavour of the food was very disappointing. Would I go back "NO" Special Fried I think was steamed rice with a few extras. Sorry normally I would eat all, but on this occasion, the left overs "Plenty" went in the bin. Perhaps eating in would of been better, but mine was a takeaway. Can not comment on the restaurant.
Melin is my go-to restaurant. It is honest, wholesome food, full with nutrition and natural goodness. I am very health conscious and the restaurant caters for my needs. If you are looking for clean eats, speak with the restaurant host Monica and she will cater for your dietary requirements.
