We visited the restaurant on the last Friday before Christmas and, not surprisingly, it was very busy. However, we were taken to our reserved table straight away, then our drinks and food orders arrived quickly. The service is always good here without being over-the-top and, on such a busy evening, it was no exception on this occasion. They had run out of the wine we wanted so I had to choose a more expensive bottle, but was only charged for my first choice. The food was good, although my chips looked as though they were the last few bits left in the fryer! Overall, a good experience and I'm sure I'll be back on many more occasions.
Really lovely dinner with a friend just before Christmas. Glad I booked as it was packed but the table was made available immediately (loved the fact that they were happy to let others sit there until we got there rather than waste a table while people were standing drinking). Only thing is, I wish I'd thought that as the steak arrives on a sizzling platter I should have ordered it blue rather than rare as it was more well done than I'd have liked since it had kept cooking my own fault though as it is advertised as arriving like this.
This is a good venue for a quick lunch during the week in your lunch hour. I had the baked potato with tuna mayonnaise I'd had this on my first visit and it was really nice however second time round the potato wasn't crispy enough on the outside or soft enough on the inside. It's not hard to get it right a little more care needs to be taken I think. Service was great both times and you can't argue with the prices :
