Roughest place I have visited on the Gold Coast and security might as well not be there. I visited from England to see my son and we had met friends and had something to eat and sang on the karaoke. Some lads looking for trouble were allowed in and ended up beating up my son for no reason and involved my husband who is 72. Security did nothing to stop it I don't know why they are employed there. Police came to sort it out but the landlord took no responsibility and was very rude. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE if you are looking for a meal and a nice evening. I was appalled coming from England and certainly did not expect such rubbish management.
Went here last night for meat tray Thursday and was not disappointed. Won a meat tray and had a good laugh playing bingo. I had the chicken pesto pasta for $16 and went home very full. The food is big, reasonably priced and tasty. Staff are lovely. Good choices on the menu, but only a couple of vegetarian meals. The venue itself is very dated even though the furniture is comfortable. The place could do with a re-vamp. Will be back :
I had a great experience at Merrimac Tavern. The staff was very friendly and provided wonderful service. I arranged for a group of 40 people to come for a wake and the platters were outstanding. Harry was extremely helpful in setting up the USB on the TV and ensuring everything ran smoothly. It was a fantastic day overall. Thank you, Merrimac Tavern!
We were unlucky as they had a function, I took my daughter and grandkids who were visit from interstate, they failed to tell us that the meals would take more than an hour! Actually we order them at 6.15 and got them at 7.30! Poor PR,the staff apologised but it should it been dealed differently! Second thoughts on going back!

We had an incredible evening at this restaurant. The service, food, and atmosphere were all fantastic. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience. They also had excellent specials. Thank you to the chefs, Ernie and Meadow, for a truly awesome night!
Staff were really nice but had to order 2 meals to get the one. Order the salmon as it comes by itself with some dressing, add the extra broccoli add mash potato. Excellant meal as the salmon was perfect.
Glad we came here for a family dinner. Real food, tasty and well presented. Staff are lovely and patient especially with kids. Great place to go on a quieter monday night. Great choice!
The cocktails are pretty good, especially the espresso martini. They also have happy hour on Fridays. The staff is always friendly.

Great food and very nice staff... Only dropped in for a pit stop on the way home. Well worth it
