We were in Requena on a day visit just to see what was there (quiet town) and had accepted the fact that we were going to find only average food for lunch when we came across Meson del Vino. The décor itself was very traditional with many signed photos from celebrities. As for the food, it was exceptional. We had the sautéed artichokes and ham croquettes as starters. For mains we had scallops with prawns and the selection of assorted sausages. When I mentioned I didn't like black pudding they happily swapped it for a different sort. Small city Requena located between Valencia and Madrid this (possibly family owned) restaurant is fabulous. The service was exceptional. We were four and as it was our first time there we didn´t know the menu. We ordered different starters and 3 different meat steaks, portions are really big. The wines, from the region, are beautiful!
Restaurante como los de antes, buena comida, personal atento y las instalaciones estupendas con jardín. Tratan muy bien el pescado y la carne. La mejor la relación calidad precio. Estupendas la alcachofas y la chuletillas a la brasa. Repetiremos seguro

Excelente lugar, toda una sorpresa al pararnos para comer camino a Madrid. No es barato, pero la calidad merece la pena. Hace tiempo no comíamos un entrecotte tan bueno
