Metropol Restaurant Bar

I had a pleasant meal, though I found it a bit overpriced. Overall, the food was very good. We started with calamari and fried cheese as appetizers, both of which were nice. For my main, I ordered vaca frita, and there was definitely plenty of meat alongside some delicious rice. Our total bill for four people, including tip and a few drinks, came to $244. The waiter informed us that the tip would be shared among the staff and almost insisted that we give an extra tip just for him. While we did end up giving an additional tip because he was excellent, it felt a bit pushy regarding the gratuity. I don’t want to sound overly critical, especially since times are tough; we originally tipped 20%....

I give this restaurant three stars. I decided to check it out last Sunday to see what all the buzz was about. While I’m still on the hunt for the best mofongo in Miami, I wasn’t impressed enough to return anytime soon. However, I might consider going back to try some different items from the menu. The food was decent; we ordered alcapurias, tostones rellenos, mofongo with carne frita, and mofongo mar y tierra. The place was quite busy, and we opted to sit inside since it was noisy outside with mall-goers passing by. The service was good but a bit slow, possibly due to being slightly understaffed.

I’ve been to this restaurant in 2019 in PR when i vacationed there in dorado pr and again aug 2022 at the San Juan airport location. This place is awesome. Food is authentic and flavorful and just absolutely delicious. The rice i think it’s the mamposteado (i think that’s the one) is so darn good. I don’t even like beans but i will pick them out and it’s worth it. The taste is so amazing. Always give great size portions. This will be my go to anytime I’m in PR or Miami.

Don't be misled by the 4-8pm happy hour promotion. The waiter will inform you that if you receive your check after 8pm, he forgot to include the drinks at happy hour prices, and the system charges full price for all of them automatically. He'll then claim that happy hour prices are no longer available in the system. Eventually, he might agree to change one drink in the system to the happy hour price—what a joke! Absolutely love coming to this restaurant! The attention is great, I appreciate how nice Andrea was at the front, i came in with an outside drink and obviously that’s not allowed, but the way she let us know we couldn’t take it in was so nice it made me ease the hunger lol. the food is amazing and the manager Venezuelan female was outstanding! 100% recommend !

The food here is fantastic, with a wide variety of options. I particularly enjoyed the Mofongo relleno de lomillo salteado, and the ensalada de pulpo was light and expertly prepared. The staff is wonderful; Pedro was especially helpful, answering all of our questions and offering great recommendations. I will definitely be returning to sample more dishes!

It's in the mall, but when you eat inside, it's a real restaurant experience. Not many places you can go to find authentic Puerto Rican food. Was very excited to eat here and introduce my son to the food. We had great service and prices were reasonable.
