I used to love this restaurant. They had a great happy hour after 1pm and the food was decent for the price. However, when I returned after a year, I was very disappointed. The prices had gone up, with meals averaging around $20 each. My boyfriend ordered 3 enchiladas with rice, beans, and a soft drink, while I got a burrito and a margarita. Our bill came to over $60, which I found to be excessive considering the lackluster quality of the food. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar, which was unpleasant. I could easily go a minute down the road for authentic Mexican food with fresh salsa. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. I would rate the food a 1, while the service and atmosphere were...
Tonight's beef fajita order was excellent! I loved that I received a generous portion of black beans this time. The beef was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The vegetables were not overcooked, and I appreciated the generous amount of guacamole and sour cream. At other places, you usually have to pay extra for that! I really appreciate the delivery driver, even though I can't figure out how to review him. He took my order out of an insulated bag, which most drivers never do. As a result, he handed me my food while it was still hot! Thank you! I'm glad I tipped well!

Been eating at the Mexico Cafe for 50+ years. It has been so consistently good I can't say more. Order the Smothered Burrito, you're welcome. I tried the Carne Asada with flour tortillas and everything was excellent. The service was good, the meal was for dinner, and the price per person was between $10 and $20. I would give the food a rating of 4, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 3 as well. I recommend trying the Carne Asada dish.
The burrito was just okay. The beans inside were too watery, the rice was dry, and the chicken inside was alright. I requested only rice and no beans on the side, but still ended up with beans. I probably won't return to this restaurant. Lorenzo's is a much better option, especially for the price.
