MI NE has been very consistent over the years. It serves Korean style Japanese sushi rolls a little complicated sounding, I know.Service is excellent and food is fresh and delicious!The Kalbi beef rib appetizer or box set appears pricey but when you're served, you'll realize that it's a very high quality short beef rib, juicy, without excess fat you get with cheaper cuts. It'd delicious! We have been clients to Mi-NE for many years. This used to be the go-to place for sushi in Richmond Hill.Things changed over the years, prices went up over and over again, forcing us to buy less and less from them. The food is still good but over years I noticed a decline in quantity, quality and presentation.In house atmosphere was never great but we stopped going in as the place feels more like a take out shop than a sit down restaurant. This was probably exacerbated by COVID as the restaurant did take out to survive.Service quality was always average but since we haven't been inside in a while, I don't know if this changed. First visit with my family and really loved the experience. Friendly staff seated us in a booth right away. We started with the kanitama crab salad, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura. Then had Aburi salmon sushi and a small Sushi and Maki platter. Our server was very attentive even though they were busy. They also had many takeout orders. Wonderful place to dine in or takeout! The sushi that is made here is incredible! Not like those tiny sushies made in a regular Japanese restaurant, this restaurant meets the Canadian style, the sushi is filled up with stuffings, and raw fishes slices are super fresh and very tasty! The atmosphere in this restaurant is also very authentic, great place to have a conversation with someone without all the noise in the background. The staff is also very friendly! Their service is overall wonderful and reliable.
we are so disappointed by the last few paintings we took over from Mi-ne. before covid and even in the first months, the services were exceptional and generous compared to other Japanese restaurants. we were there almost weekly. unfortunately, in the last order, they cut the fish so thin that they can see the rice through them on the rolls. we were on the road for over 45 minutes. I am now looking for another place. recommendations have been welcomed.
We've been here a few times. The restaurant is a bit on the older side, so the booths are kind of tight for space. The service is excellent, with the server coming back to top up our tea without being asked and checking up on us to make sure everything is good. The rice with the sushi was slightly too wet/sticky. Prices are comparable or just slightly more than other Japanese restaurants in the area.
Incredibly disappointing take out experience. Ordered California roll, spicy tuna roll, and Alaska roll. The best was probably California roll. Both the Alaska and spicy tuna had no fish- just A LOT of tempura batter and tobiko. The pieces are big but no point if there’s not any actual fish in it. I spent $40 altogether for the dinner. Won’t go back again.
Our go-to sushi restaurant for special occasions. One of my favourites! The appetizers, sushi, lunches, and dinners are all so tasty and hearty. Staff is friendly and attentive, and service is always very quick. So so good!Vegetarian options: There are options for meals with or without meat!
