The last time I ate here was 2001 and the food was delicious...I was here with a friend on veterans day 2021 and the food and service was excellent! The waiters and waitresses were very accommodating and it was a family type atmosphere...I'm seeing reviews of some who say most of the staff is not Columbian which waters down the authenticity but I've eaten at a few Columbian restaurants and the food was similar. I'm not Columbian so maybe my taste buds can't tell the difference but let's just say I will be a steady customer from now on.
this place made good eating earlier, but recently their prices have risen and you think they make an attempt to eat in good quality, but no, their steak feels like them? chewing gum again and their baked chicken tastes as if they reuse old oil or when they have reheated in oil, I commanded them, maybe it was a bad day but no food. in brentwood is still decent. I gave them two stars because the staff is nice, otherwise it would be one.
the eating is so hard that I almost meet on my eating as coming on a man grilled was not well cooked, there were blood on him two people said that this was not well cooked, as I can imagine a restaurant like this the rice was a lot of oil. we had to tell them to cook well. one of the hired let the food fall on the floor. the food was not cooked well.
spent too much money on food that was not packed properly, missing food items such as avocado from the Bandeja tipica and lacking seasoning. for such expensive prices I did not get a plate that was well portioned. utterly disappointed with the chefs, I would of thought a white person was working behind the scenes with how bad the food was.

eating from here is legendary the drinks are not. my biggest handle from this position is the lack of mixed drinks that can actually be made. they can make a margaritas safe. but I can't get a tequila sunlight because the majority of the time nobody knows how to do it. love eating here better bartenders!
I have been coming to the Hempstead and the Brentwood spot for years. The portions are big, the prices are right, and the staff is attentive and courteous. By far the best Columbian food around.

Overall the best Colombian food I've ever had, while the service sometimes needs help. Always get the breaded pork chop which ahhhmazing.
Great service and amazing food! Definitely adding to my favs when in NY.
