"Nice restaurant downtown. They have valet parking because it is literally impossible to find a park anywhere. The nachos were okay and the French kiss was nice and strong. The meatloaf was okay along with the mashed potato's. Customer service was nice. I hope you enjoy."

I love going to restaurants like this every once in a while because there is something so quintessentially southern in the simplicity and lack of pretension involved when a chef serves up a $40 chicken piccata made with the same recipe that he used 30+ years ago when the restaurant was founded. A $17 Brussels sprouts appetizer would have been an insult to any chefs in the fine dining scene of a more sophisticated city; nothing in the preparation of the sprouts spoke to the quality of the ingredients or did anything inventive or subtle. But they were GOOD. Why? Because they were coated in butter and sugar and salt and fat. My scallops were cooked well and immediately slopped on a pile of lobs...

Still traveling as a herd with three Japanese engineers and an interpreter plus product development and myself and a salesman so reservations are required. Small unassuming place within walking distance of our hotel which was awesome since parking is limited in Nashville. We were seat upon arrival and the place was packed. Local cafe vibe not at all high end in the feel till you get to the menu and the options. Outstanding selection and variety on the menu. I had the shrimp pasta and lobster bisque as well as a crab cake which I missed getting a pix of. The shrimp pasta was good but I would have like more garlic but then I love garlic. The crab cakes were very good. The lobster bisque was de...

It has been years since I visited Midtown Cafe, so it was time to stop in again! I came in for lunch on a Monday. And it was poppin'! I remember it being a little more for the business crowd in years past, but it is now very relaxed and open to all. It's very easy to valet outside (free) as parking in that part of town is no bueno. We were seated quickly and given a basket of hot fresh mini muffins. So good! We then got a large order of their yummy Brussels sprouts. I was in love with the addition of diced green apples! Next I had a bowl of their signature artichoke lemon soup. Sublime! There's a reason they have been serving it for decades. True story. And the salmon with a side order of ju...

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: The word Hot is in the title for a reason--this sandwich is hotttt! Be prepared with extra ranch and water refills because it packs some serious heat. Very tasty, and perfect for those who love a bit of . Avocado Toast with Chicken Sausage: I opted for poached eggs on top, which made for a great brunch order. The additional chicken sausage added just the right touch. While I enjoyed it, I probably wouldn 't order it again. Service and Atmosphere: We were seated quickly without a reservation on a Wednesday around 11:00 AM. However, consider making a reservation because it fills up fast with a business lunch crowd. Great service overall--I would recommend it! Réservez une table maintenant

I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. It included one for $16. The flavor and accompaniments were good. I thought it was a bit pricey. I ordered the filet for my entrée. I?ll say it was not bad but you can tell this is not a steak house. My party ordered the molten cake and JD Pecan Pie and said they were great. My espresso was good. Ambience and aesthetic were nice. Had a lipstick stain on my glass so that was not good. Our server was pretty good and attentive andseemed busy but sometimes our wait when he checked up on us seemed a little longer than it should have been. Although, he comped something so that was nice. Overall, 4/5.

Don?t let the modest and small-sized front fool you! Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, professional courteous staff. The interior design and decor is geared more towards a nice date night spot, rather than just a breakfast cafe. It was very surprising! I ordered the Midtown Breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and fruit. Eggs were eggs, the sausage was incredible and the biscuit was also good. Coffee was hot and refilled routinely, even offered a to-go cup.The OJ was just what I needed to start my meal. I finished the meal with a small fruit cup- not bad. What a great breakfast spot!

Breakfast was fantastic! Reservations recommended since this spot gets busy even first thing in the morning. Came here for a business meeting. It's quaint with Southern charm. Fresh flowers on all tables! Walking distance from midtown hotels and Vanderbilt University. For breakfast, I ordered the fried green tomato Benedict with smoked salmon, white Gouda grits and a homemade biscuit. Talk about a southern breakfast! So fresh, so good. Our server was great too. Very attentive but let us stay there to work too.

We recommend reservations even for breakfast. This restaurant is excellent and everyone loves it!!! The hostess and our waitress was very nice and took very good care of us. We have never eaten here before and I have never heard of Nashville pigs in a blanket. It was absolutely amazing and so tender and perfectly seasoned, My favorite!!! My husband said he highly recommended the midtown biscuits. So good Réservez une table maintenant

A gem. Small but it packs a punch. I enjoyed the lemon and artichoke soup. Very refreshing and a wonderful combination. Service was fast and friendly. My entree was the sea bass with lobster risotto. Yummy and beautifully presented. They have good gluten-free options that will appeal to every taste. A cozy place that welcomed me on a Saturday evening.
