If you are in Nashville for a day, you must go for dinner to the Midtown Cafe. The place has been here for 30 years and once you eat here you will understand why. If you by yourself sit at the bar. Gina will welcome you with a warm and pretty smile. To start I recommend the Lemon Artichoke soap. The soup has been on the menu since the day the restaurant opened. A wonderful combination of bitter ness balanced with a touch of paprika. The food was superb. Initially our drinks not so much because the lemon drop martini was made with lemonade, but they got it right-We just selected other drinks. Also our server Matthew was fantastic!!! There was a group of young ladies who were extremely loud but thoroughly enjoying themselves is evidenced by their loud laughter and loud talking-fortunately they left and were not at the restaurant the entire time that we were there. The food though was outstanding. The Seabass was wonderful and the biscuits yummy. The lobster risotto was to die for. I will patronize again, maybe I will just order my sea bass and risotto to carry out
What a great lunch at Midtown Cafe. Food was outstanding only to be distracted with the construction next door. Building vibrating through the entire lunch. I know that Midtown has no control about this..but it was very unnerving. The Spinach Salad and Lemon Artichoke Soup was perfect. Enjoyed their most requested dish, Shrimp and Grits. Never had a bad meal here. Everything is excellent and the service is always top tier! And free valet! It’s our favorite restaurant in middle TN and we keep coming back. Personal favorites: shrimp and grits, chicken scallopini, elderflower blossom cocktail made with gin, coconut cake, lemon artichoke soup. But don’t stop there…the rest of the menu is awesome!
Great experience from start to finish. We arrived 5 minutes late and they still had our table and were seated right away. The server greeted us took our drink orders and returned with them promptly. We ordered and the food came out about 15 minutes later. It was fresh, hot and delicious. Overall it was an excellent experience.
