Some of the best sushi I've ever had! I live in Denver, but come a few times a year to Champaign and I always have dinner at Miga. This time I broke into her second night to offer a complete sushi menu. I won't lie... first I was cheated, because I'm really looking forward to the sea bass that's no longer on the menu. I decided to stay because the owner had already come to welcome me and flee the new sushi menu. I was skeptical (and so sad I wasn't miso meer bass! but all this went away when I tasted my first dish, the yellow tail cross. OMG was truley amazing and so fresh. From there I had the Mexican role (Tuna, Cilantro, I can't remember what else, then the maguro nigiri. I really can't say enough how amazing it was. I loooove sushi and love my chic sushi dinner on the boss's credit card all over the country. I can't say how pleasantly surprised I was to find such an amazing place, especially in Champaign. Miga will still be my place when I'm in town.
Miga is one of the most luxurious restaurants in the Urbana Champaign where I have ever been! The interior has been recently renovated and it is so beautiful. I always liked the contemporary atmosphere and above all the quality of food is AMAZING without a doubt. I had sushi and sashimi combination with Katsu and both are my favorites for years! Some may think the price may be somewhat expensive, but seriously, the quality of food justifies everything! p.s. the server was very nice and knowledgeable :
If you are looking for a stylish date night in downtown, MIGA is the right choice. Inside is furnished with modern and contemporary styles with bar seats, rooms and tables that can accommodate large parties. Food is the fusion of Korean and American styles along with a sushi menu. It is a bit expensive, but the culinary experience was exceptional.
