I've been to this place many times, over the years. Generally, I've had good food and a nice experience. I previously left a good review with four stars. But, my food the last two times has been terrible. Today I ordered a chef salad to go, and when I got home, I discovered that the hard-boiled egg included in my salad, was still in the shell. I also noticed that the roast beef looks like Fifty Shades of grey, and smelled rancid. I decided to go to the trouble of returning it, and ask for a refund, which I don't think I've ever done in my life. I wouldn't even be writing this review, had the owner not stood at the front examining this mess of a salad, and arguing with me about whether or not...
I just read about this restaurant in one of my online magazines. This was our first visit. It was seat yourself, but took a good while for anyone to come and wait on us (husband and myself). Waitress's moved around us before someone finally asked if we had been helped. Others came in after us and got served right away. We were just talking about leaving when someone came over. It wasn't over populated with people, but definitely was when we left. Good was very good, and my cricketers curry, and it was a generous serving. It was definitely pricey. $65.00 for lunch. We discovered this gem in a plaza and what a fantastic find it was! The food was outstanding, with generous portions and high quality. The service was excellent, and the beer was served ice cold. The prices were also very reasonable. The restaurant had a pleasant layout, plenty of TVs, and was clean and comfortable. The restroom was spotless and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. Although we're just visiting, we'll definitely return next time. Thank you, Cricketers!
I'm happy we decided to leave. The location was convenient right after we left the beach. Our server, Megan, was friendly and charming. However, the place didn't quite capture the ambiance of a British pub or restaurant. I did enjoy the Shandy they made for me. I ordered the bangers and mash but was a bit let down by the sausages; they didn't taste authentic and were overcooked. The gravy and peas were good, though. The food and drinks were excellent. However, the British theme felt somewhat excessive since the menu already reflects the theme well enough. Prices were a bit higher than expected, but it's not a major issue. The service was fantastic, and we appreciated the option for both indoor and outdoor seating.
Stopped in to get out of the storm. Handful of folks were in there. Butch the bartender was Aces. Funny, competent, engaging and getting the job done. Weren't going to eat but ended up grabbing sandwiches. Order by 930, you will have til 10pm during the week I believe. Will definitely be back.
