Milt's Pit Barbeque

Having lived in Kyle for a few months while our house was being constructed in San Marcos, we always saw Milt 's Pit BBQ whenever we drive along Center Street on our way to our townhouse rental. We always planned on stopping by to check it out, especially after we struck up a conversation with a couple from Austin while we were at the Design Center who spoke highly of their experience there. Super convenient location as you pass through Kyle just off the highway. We had been craving BBQ for days and decided to grab some as we headed back to AUS to travel home and found Milts on Yelp. We love BBQ and are always looking out for something new. I will break down this rating by item, as that can help when deciding if it's worth the trip/stop. Realistically it's more like 3.5 stars, but I bumped it up based on the quality of the meat itself. Upon entering, we were greeted by a delightful aroma of smoke that wasn't overwhelming—just the right amount to get us in the mood for BBQ. The menu features the usual lineup of meats: brisket, chicken, ribs, and sausage, along with sides like potato salad, beans, mac and cheese, and cheesy corn. The staff was friendly and attentive. I opted for the three-meat plate (whose name I can't recall), which included brisket, a sausage link, and two substantial pork ribs. I also tried the coleslaw and mac and cheese. We enjoy exploring areas outside of Austin, and during our recent drive to downtown Kyle, we stumbled upon the BEST BBQ. From the moment we entered, the young lady at the cash register was incredibly friendly. My mother needed a bit of time to look over the menu, and she was very patient, even offering to help with any questions we had. That was really thoughtful! Everyone we encountered was nice! I ordered what was hands down the most delicious BBQ potato I've ever had, while my mother enjoyed a brisket plate with a rib. Every bite was delightful! We loved the food so much that we decided to take some brisket home with us. This is a fantastic local spot located in a charming downtown area.... Réservez une table maintenant

I'm surprised this place has as many good reviews as it does. Maybe we caught them on an off day? The brisket was dry AF, the pork was marginally edible and everything was cold. Like, had they prepared this food two days ago? It did not taste fresh. Credit where credit is due, the staff was super sweet and the cornbread fritters were the bomb; we ordered a second serving. But seriously some of the worst bbq we have ever had. Stay away. Except for the fritters.

Everytime I visit my brother in Buda, we always take a trip Milt's in Kyle! Brisket melts like butter, they serve Lockhart sausage too! Awesome sides...must try bbq beans, german potato salad and surprisingly their Fries!! Place is always clean and the staff are super friendly!!

I hate to say it, but the brisket and turkey were dry, and while the sausage had great flavor, it was mealy. However, the scalloped potatoes were excellent. I really love the location and hope this was just a one-time bad experience, so I will definitely try again.

I always love the food I get from Milt's. The meat is scrumptious and the sides are delicious, too. I've never had bad service which really says a lot these days. The only complaint... backing out of my parking spot! Haha Keep up the good work Milt's. Réservez une table maintenant

Located in downtown Kyle. Service very good, bbq delicious. Really can't tell what a FABULOUS bbq is. My choice of meat was kinda dry, but the sausage was delicious. Its an authentic feel, id go back fir sure

They haystack on a bun instead of the potato. This was today's special and.it did not disappoint. Culinary creativity that's on point with the deliciousness .
