Conveniently situated in a charming historic building in the heart of the city, this restaurant is filled with character and friendly faces. While their renowned ice cream is tempting, my go-to order is always a ham and cheese toastie paired with a cappuccino. The ambiance is fantastic, as is the service. I will definitely be returning next time I am back in town.
Minchllas are famous in South Shields for their icecream and coffees , this shop has been in its present situation for as long as I can remember 60 years and the service and pleasant staff are as good as ever . All the Minchellas are in convenient places in the town particularly on the sea front
I’ve been having ice cream from this establishment since the 80s and it’s as good now as it was when I was a child every time I visit my Granny I make the trip from London to Gateshead to see her and on to minchella’s even if it’s raining for in my opinion the best ice cream in the world

Minchella 's Ocean Road is a must go to every time I 'm back home. I 'm so glad they 've kept the 'old style ' atmosphere at this location. Delicious ice creams and coffees, helpful and smiling staff. Also nice to see they 've branched out their ice cream flavours.
The ice cream at this restaurant is amazing and the drinks are fabulous. The service is great, the prices are good, and the staff is fantastic. The restaurant is a bit small, but I highly recommend it.
