as a native I recommend this pub in the regular very for great food and great service. Unfortunately, today was not one of these days. Clearly understated what is in order, it is mainly happening at busy times as weeks and Sunday midday. in the future in ours. drinks and food orders were taken quickly, just to wait for an hour for our food. don't get me wrong when eating finally came out, the majority of him was delicious, apart from the cauliflower cheese that didn't cheat at all, it was very tasteless and watery. if at the arrival we were informed that the waiting period would have been about an hour, we would have known what we should expect and should have been good, but that lack of com...

Had lunch here to celebrate our anniversary. Have been a couple of times before, a while ago, and had a really nice meal. The staff were trying hard but service was very very slow (despite the fact it wasn’t very busy) and food just wasn’t...prepared to a high enough standard for the price. Cauliflower wings: lukewarm. Egg mayo sandwich: overloaded with mayo to the point where it was inedible. Toad in the hole: some sausages with cooked-from-frozen Yorkshire puddings. Ordered coffee at the end of our meal but it never arrived and we ended up having to go to the bar to pay. Probably wouldn’t eat there again.

absolutely stunning location. we sat outside on the terrace in the magnificent sunshine. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I gave a star rating, because it was moderate. I had roasted cauliflower on quinoa. it was more like a starter with...small flower cabbage and was just warm. my friend had ham, eggs and chips. the eggs were slightly overcooked with a very small proportion of frits. the doorstep sandwiches looked very appetizing and better price-performance ratio. no photos of eating, as it was not worth a picture.

Despite the pre-booking, we sat in a table that was in a busy part of the es tab, we said there were no other tables available. it was undressed and involuntary. eating was cold and, openly restless and even though the staff was. friendly, service was slow and really not on scratches. we did not let us in the position to eat our meals and, as I did not foot the bill, I did not feel complaining while in situ. so shame because I had good experiences at past lying, but this was really not disappointing and I will not come back

Poor, certainly not to the standard expected of this type of establishment. An early lunch, at When few people had ordered. minute wait from ordering to food delivered to table. Mashed root vegetables and greens both barely lukewarm. Mash was so heavily peppered...it was not eatable. In contrast the beef pie was hot and tasty, the saving grace. Would not eat there again, and will have to think carefully before visiting another Fullers venue.

This is the second time that we have tried to eat at this pub! Last time we waited of an hour and then left without eating and today exactly the same situation. Just wondering what you have to do to get food on a...reasonable timescale in this pub! So our advice you mitre’s well not bother, but there is a very good Italian restaurant just off the High St where the food was served within minutes

A very pleasant place to have an excellent lunch. Cheerful helpful attentive staff . Superb view from our table looking over the Blackmore Vale and up to the Cranborne Chase. First class fish and chips with light batter and tasty fish. The whole place very...well presented and extremely clean and well look after.

The barmaid Liv should be up for Barmaid of the Year! Fabulous service and help with the App for a couple of mobile phone numpties! Friendly service, good food and a very nice casual but yet atmospheric pub/inn. Enjoyed it so much we went back...for a second time on our trip to Shaftesbury.
