I promise! I found low-carb, zero carb and gluten-free heaven right here in Baldwin! So far I’ve very much enjoyed the bagels, and had my first loaf of smart bread, which taste amazingly like REAL bread… nom nom! The family and staff owned store are extremely knowledgeable and very honest! If you are looking for low carb keto gluten or also good old fashion bread… and so much more meaning they have breakfast lunch and dinner items that are quite a find! This is a lovely family-owned shop that offers a wide variety of products. The owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They stock many dietary-specific items, so if you're looking for low-carb or low-sugar options, or have other dietary restrictions, you'll likely find something to suit your needs here. The owner went above and beyond to assist me; he noticed I had several items and offered me a cart to carry them. He even called his wife, who has tried some of the products I was interested in, so I could ask her questions. She was very knowledgeable and helpful as well. It feels like a mini supermarket where you can find just about anything you need.
This store sure has come a long way. It used to be a place to purchase discounted bakery items like bread, cookies, bagels and chips. But now, in addition to those items; there are plenty of gluten-free, plant based and healthy options as well. It's a small location but it's packed with so much to choose from. Shopping local and supporting small businesses is good for the community and better for your waistline.
