I cannot believe I have been a Voucher Virgin for such a long time! It’s so affordable, what was I thinking! On the voucher site, we decided to try Modern China, even though the reviews were not the best! But then we were informed that the restaurant now has new owners and the negative reviews were from the previous owners, so now they have their work cut out for them! And they are really doing a fabulous job of it! These owners really care about what is going on in their restaurant and totally make sure all their customers are happy. Have driven past this restaurant on numerous occasions, but never visited. Until today. I'm always on the lookout for lunch options, and thought we would pop in for a taste. The exterior looks 'beige' - nothing that grabs your attention. Unfortunately the interior isn't much of an improvement either, but it is very clean and neat. Definitely rates better than certain establishments in Chinatown. We were offered a lunch menu and a wine list. The plethora of options caused my indecisiveness. We had a Groupon which had lapsed by a few weeks as we recently lost our son to Diabetes Type 1. We discovered this and rang them to ask if they would honour it -but expected them to say no due to voucher rules. Instead, the manager said they would do so happily which was so appreciated. We went last night and had a really great meal - delicious and hot-with lovely staff so we rate this restaurant as excellent! Will be back Thanq so much to them

Tried this place out over the weekend and wished I hadn'tThe positives, the place is spacious , decor is ok , portion sizes are adequateThe negatives, food was bland, backing music is loud and if you don't like Richard Clayderman very annoying, staff we encountered were rudeAlso the menus looked like they had been retrieved from the rubbishGive me old fashioned Chinese over Modern anytime!

Serves are so generous that most tables ask for takeaway of the remaining. The taste of our order is between good and above average. But our choices were limited by the Groupon set menu. I expect the full menu to be more extensive with chef specials. I think we shall come back to try other dishes. Réservez une table maintenant

Really good Chinese food at a reasonable price with good service. There is parking on the side street next to the railway line and only a short walk to the restaurant

Delicious authentic food was very pleasantly surprised! The only thing I would suggest is champagne by the glass and changing the music up otherwise can't fault it.
