"I was exited for a steak! The 10oz striploin was a sad, grey looking piece of meat. No colour/ grill marks. Chewy. Cheap meat. Very disappointing. Definitely not what I paid for. Would not go back."

But within 18 hours of me posting this review I received a call from Kayla of Montana's to discuss my experience. And because of this effort made by the restaurant I have decided to go back and see if the experience is different. Then I will post again.)When we arrived we were told that there was a 35 minute wait. We said no problem and asked to be seated at the bar (where there was plenty of room) until our table was ready. My wife, her sister and myself ordered ribs and burgers for takeout and all three of us got food poisoning and the ribs were so dry and burnt none of us finished them. After opening the bag and looking at the ribs I was tempted to call and complain before even tasting them they were so dry and blackened, but the restaurant had already closed for the night by the time we got home and we were all pretty hungry... Pretty sure it was from the ribs as I got sick the least and I had the burger and only tasted the ribs to see how bad they were. Both the girls who actually ate the ribs are super sick. I've had plenty of good experiences at other Montana's locations but not this one. Beyond disappoin...
My experience at this restaurant was by far the most frustrating I've ever encountered. We arrived at 8:00 PM (the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM) and found it about three-quarters full, with many tables left uncleared. When we asked to be seated, the server informed us there would be a 20-minute wait because they were "full." It left me wondering: is it common for a quarter of the restaurant to have reservations that arrive just before closing? Or do the staff prefer to wrap things up early and leave as soon as possible? Perhaps they were short-staffed? Regardless of the reason, it was frustrating to see so many obviously empty tables while we were told we had to wait.
with my family Friday night. fish and chips, med steak and child dish. fish and chips and children's dishes came and were good. steak came and it was closer to roar when she met, sent her back. 2 times it came back, it was still under done and we sent it back. 3. it came out, it was cooked properly, but as we waited, my wife couldn't eat with us and had to eat alone. also replaces the frits on the child's meal, got only 4 small frits. they asked for manager and gave us only 50% of the steak. also the wooden chairs on concrete all night was not more pleasant sound. would not recommend it again. but our server was great and pleasant. well done. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We understand that every restaurant can have an off night, so we gave it a chance, but after today, it will be a long time before we return. My children's grilled cheese had clearly been sitting for too long—the cheese was gummy, and the bread was only partially grilled and falling apart. As for the adults’ meals, they were cold. We also struggled to get anyone's attention, as the staff seemed to be absent. In the end, they offered a 10% discount, but we still left feeling unsatisfied with both the food and the service.
So my husband and I like montanas, tonight though was a different story. Thank goodness our server was so fantastic otherwise we would’ve left before food ever came to the table; one hour after we ordered. Mason is an excellent server who is so cool, laid-back and polite that we did not want to leave. The food is pretty good even tho it was late. Mason deserves a raise.
Come here every date night. Great atmosphere, the staff are always super awesome, and the food is amazing. Love a classic BBQ place. The two times out of probably 20-30 we've ever had an overdone steal they've been amazing about fixing it. Their new manager is also super sweet. The scene points paying part of my dinner is an added bonus.
