First time having a meal in this place for lunch. Located along one of the main street area of Williamstown.I had the special - porterhouse steak, 300g ($18) that comes with steam/boil vegetables and baked potato with cream. The vegetables and potato are nice. However, the steak is another story.I had ordered the steak as medium but the steak itself is presented partly well done and partly medium due to the irregular thick shape of the cut. Also, the steak is very though. One of the toughest from my experience to even chew or bite for a porterhouse. Lots of tendons and cutting the meat even with a steak knife is also difficult. At the end of the shopping strip in Williamstown is this large establishment. My impressions from the outside were that it would be a restaurant serving the standard offerings of chicken schnitzel, fish and chips etc at "tourist prices" but I was very pleasantly surprised.The menu was Italian based with pizzas, pasta dishes and admittedly the standard main dishes as mentioned above,but what caught my eye were the specials. I had the veal schnitzel for $16 which came accompanied with a nice selection of crisply cooked vegetables and roast potato and my partner had the mussels alla Monzarella for $19.50. We went there by chance because the Italian resturant we usually go to was closed for renovations. Boy was it a great find for us. The amount of items of the menu appealed to all of us and they have a great selection kids menu too. I had the salmon risottor, which was cooked to perfection (although a bit too salty for my taste). My husband got the parma and demolished it, saying it was awesome. Our daughter chose the hawain pizza which was really good too. Our desserts Cassata and the Chocolate lava cake were so yummy. The staff were very attentive too. Great service, great meals and a great find for us. We will definitely be back.
Myself and 3 friends went to dinner here on a Thursday. The food was excellent, great variety for all, including our vegetarian friend. We shared an entree, each had mains, shared a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses of spirits, all for less than $35 each. Excellent value. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, there when we needed something but was never hovering or intrusive. My only complaint is that the table was a little small for 4 of us, but the same size you would get in any restaurant so very minor issue that was forgotten quickly Réservez une table maintenant
Went with my wife and kids and her mum and sister/brother in law for a celebration birthday dinner. Everyone liked what they ordered. Wife had the porterhouse, son had tortellini, daughter and I had pizzas, wife's family had mussels and calamari. All cooked well and tasted good. Nothing special or fancy, just good simple well cooked Italian food. A nice place with nice food without being inventive.
My wife and myself tried this place Saturday night Australia Day weekend. I had tag beef ribs and wife had rib eye. Her rib eye was only half a rib eye, they cut half way through the bone to make twice as much and the sauce was watery. My ribs were nice but a lot of fat. But when I got home I was sick as al dog!
