Thought my partner and I would check out our local for the first time. We were told that we'd have to be out by 8pm and that they'd have to find a table for us,mind you only three of the tables had reserved on them. I ended up ordering the nachos and my partner had the mustard chicken. My partners plate was not worth $24 as the serving size was very small. The nachos were nice but the corn chips were nearly all burnt. As soon as my partner stopped eating,she was asked if she was finished and the plate was taken away. As soon as I had placed my napkin on the plate, within a second my plate was taken. Not even 2 minutes later,the bill was placed on the table. The whole experience felt very rus...
So, usually I come here to buy lemon chicken with rice.Although I havent visited Mortdale Pub and Bistro for awhile, I was surprised to see new owners and a brand new menu!I was impressed by the delicious sounding menu, and the staff were pretty friendly...Although when I ordered the chicken parmigiana with boiled veg on side, i was under the assumption you also get chips with it too, as my boyfriend got a SALAD, AND chips with his chicken schnitzel ..I got gravy, but no chips.When we asked why that is, they said u can only get salad and chips ORSteamed veg. Although the menu did not say this clearly.Even more disappointing was the fact that the only 2 types of veg i got was cauliflower and...
OK Mexican food. Service was a little TOO attentive for a pub. Spoiling the whole meal was the smoke that permeated the entire bistro from the pub. In 2016 I cannot believe that there is still a pub where people sit and drink and feed the pokies while smoking....doors wide open so the poor people 20m away in the restaurant had a smokey meal. This surely breaks so many public health rules. Step back into the Jurassic era at Mortdale pub! Wont visit again.
The original owners of Panchos Mortdale are back and in the Mortdale Hotel and if you've missed them, they are back and their food is as delicious as ever. Sensational Mexican food, second to none. The kids fish n chips is fresh fish not fried. My favourite is the nachos but everything on the menu is worth trying. You'll be back again and again is all I'll say. Enjoy!

We have been to the mortdale Hotel many many times. There is now a great Mexican bistro and the food is great. Just $4 for a taquito, $3 for big Tacos. $12 for ahhmazing nachos!!! We go there a lot and I highly recommend you make a meal out of the starters and skip the mains. The taquito are our favourites!!
Great original Mexican.........Décor is now very bright and has a Mexican feel.An extra partition and doorway has now been added to give it a cosy and private feel.Try any delicious combo or go anything from the special board...........Finish off with a tasty original desert.Luis is still a real charmer.
Chinese food which is OK - nothing to rave about. Servings are good and prices reasonable. They are quick and offer some options for those who do not like Chinese. Quite a big menu for a pub bistro. Food is served quickly.
Our family of three called in here this afternoon for a cold beer and a soft drink. We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze and the fact that a full strength and a light beer were $10.00.

Panchos Bistro inside Mortdale Hotel. Great Texmex at reasonable prices. Needs Margaritas though! Attentive and very pleasant staff. Great chicken taco. We will be back.
My wife and young son had dinner this evening at Mortdale Hotel and it was extremely affordable$28.00 for the 3 of us.
