The Mountainside Deli is a charm! During lunch rush, it's worth the wait. My favorites are the hot turkey sandwiches, italian subs and french onion soup. Other daily specials that are great are the meatloaf, meatball subs and the extra special german potato salad. (You should probably call ahead if you want a lot of that potato salad! It's popular! Now that I've moved out of NJ, the Mountainside Deli is missed. May have to take a trip back, just to get a great lunch!
Oh my goodness. This place is an absolute train wreck! I’m not sure if they’ve just thrown in the towel because of competition or what, but it's filthy, outdated, and the woman at the counter is extremely rude. She was shouting prices from the back room and arguing with the guy at the register about them. I’m done. I tried to support them out of respect as a long-time customer, but I have my limits. What a mess!
Hearkening back to simpler times, much of the decor of this neighborhood deli has remained charmingly unchanged as ownership has been in the same family for generations. This is truly a place where the owners and staff will get to know your name. This is a regular stop for our breakfast sandwiches or lunch.

This deli is one of the best in the area. However, if the younger staff is the one preparing your meal, you might find the experience varies. The more experienced older staff take pride in their work and have years of expertise, crafting sandwiches and dishes that truly deserve a five-star rating.
Great local spot for a quick lunch. Picked up 1/2 a Turkey and Swiss Sub, Diet Coke, and Chips for $10. Food was delicious, service was fast, and entire staff was wearing masks. Recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area.
There still is charm and friendliness after all these years. I recommend anyone patronize this deli whether ordering for oneself or for a party.
