I went on Thanksgiving Eve, hoping it wouldn't be overly crowded and it wasn't. I was with my wife and her parents. We were seated quickly and then the server arrived within 5-10 minutes. Teaira was very attentive and pleasant. Her service was great. The atmosphere was nice (we sat on the Tavern side, but they also have a Dining side). The refreshed building was intriguing and the restrooms were easy to locate. Unfortunately it took an hour for our food to arrive. Others came and went, but for some reason ours took much longer for the kitchen to prepare. My MIL ordered the tacos w/fries, my FIL ordered a burger, my wife ordered the Tavern Steak, and I ordered the Maryland Grilled Cheese. The...
I was not impressed. Southwest eggrolls didn't taste Mexican/southwest and looked like they sat in the deep fry grease for days. The Angus burger was very good. My friend ordered the Thai Chicken salad and that was average tasting as well. Dessert was uneventful a chocolate sundae was a small bowl of vanilla icecream with some chocolate syrup poured over it. I asked to be seated in a booth and was told that they didn't have booths for only 2 people; however later in the evening, I saw couples in booths. After sunset the restaurant became very dark inside. They walked me from the front of the restaurnt to the large room, through a hall that had smelly trash bags in it. Didn't much help my app...
This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a really long time. We went in on the second Saturday in December at 8pm and we 're promptly seated. Our drinks and first course arrived quickly and we 're great. The truffle fries were perfectly crispy but a bit lacking of truffle flavor when compared with others I have enjoyed. I had the rockfish entree which was completely delicious. I literally cleaned the plate! My partner had the prime rib quesadilla and was very happy with his choice. I can 't wait to go back and work our way through more of the menu!
I've been coming to this place for decades and really enjoy it. It's good for group events and has a great layout from formal dining to bar snacking. The only knock I have is lately the services has been consistently average at best. Over the past few visits, I haven't felt welcome after I passed the hostess stand. That being said, it's hard to find good help so hopefully that's an outlier and you have an excellent experience. Regardless, the food and spirits are great, and it's such a cute area to meander.

This was our first trip to Mt. Washington Tavern and we were favorably impressed. When we arrived, we thought that we were going to pass the evening in a local bar scene atmosphere, but we were taken to a back dining room that had a totally different decor. What a surprise! The variety in the menu meant that everyone could tailor dinner to what suited them. The food was well prepared and portions were huge. We would definitely go back and we would definitely recommend it.
I ate here after a meeting I had nearby. It's one of the few restaurants open at 4 pm on a weekday. I had crab cakes and $1 oysters. The oysters were good (not amazing, but good . The crab cakes were salty and were absolutely not worth the $42 (a price they don't show you in the menu, so don't assume they're priced like the other entrees! . The server was nice, but was also the bartender and was busy because of this.
We were very disappointed with our experience. All four of us received meals that were lacking in quality and flavor, making them inedible. Additionally, our waiter had no personality and offered little attention to our needs. We won't be returning and definitely can't recommend this restaurant to others.
My business, Perfectly Wrapped Balloons, provided balloons for a bridal shower at Mt. Washington Tavern. The team was a pleasure to work with. The Pimlico room has a beautiful fireplace that was the perfect focal point for the event. I highly recommend Mt. Washington Tavern to celebrate your next event.

I attended a Christmas party at this venue, and the food was fantastic—the trays were always full. The bartenders knew how to make my favorite drink, an Old Fashioned, and they used top-shelf liquor.
Our server was absolutely amazing! The food and drinks were good, but I would definitely come back just for the service!
