My family and I left here a little disappointed having wanted to visit for a good while due to observing how pleasant the building and outdoor canal side seating areas are. Sadly, the interior resembles a roadside cafe and does not match the promise of the outdoor area; the layout is quite confused in places it resembles a pub, in other places a residential home...and the decor is stark. Everything feels cheap and not cheerful, including even the actual menus. The food was OK nothing exceptional but nothing bad either. We were all satisfied with our choices but not blown away. Great friendly staff at the bar and nice bar food Unfortunately our food was brought to the table in an incredibly rude manner. The chap told us he was going to bring a brush over so our children could sweep the table in the pod near the sandpit. We advised him it was made by the children who had been at that table previous. I do wonder if that sandpit is more hassle than it’s worth there We ate our food and left quickly. It’s unfortunate how one person can have such a negative impact on what is a nice place. He’s clearly had a bad day (we heard him being terse with another member of staff) and I hope he’s ok But unlikely we’ll be back, next time we’ll head to the dragon.
We have previously travelled from Nottingham to meet friends here for meals on special occasions. There used to be a menu with lots of choices presented in a stylish cover. We were disappointed to be presented with a menu that was severely cut down to a few main dish choices in a hastily printed out laminated sheet. Few of the choices were what we hoped to eat. Not sure if this is under new management, however it is no longer a place that is special enough to justify travelling to. If you are just after an average restaurant with little choice a short distance away then this place is fine.
I have been sporadically visiting this restaurant for years, but lately, I have been disappointed by the poor quality of microwaved cheap meat and bland sauce. The meat tastes dry and flavorless, and it seems like no effort is put into the dishes anymore. It's a shame because I used to enjoy dining here, especially with its great setting. We ended up spending £90 for three people, drinks included, and most of the food ended up in the trash. Réservez une table maintenant
Visited on a Sunday night for a family birthday meal. Couldn’t fault the staff, always attentive and made the occasion special. Food quality was excellent and in good portions, only downside was that the prices seemed to be extortionate compared to other curry houses. Also good to see a good range of beers on draught, whereas some curry houses only have a limited range.
The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant has a spacious car park so parking was not an issue. We were seated promptly at our reserved table for 7. Our drinks were brought out quickly and the portion sizes were generous, with minimal waste. The friendly atmosphere left everyone satisfied.
