Nando's - Ottawa Elgin Street

I've heard from many friends that Nando's chicken is like no other -- so delicious etc. I have to say that it certainly smells good whenever I pass by the Elgin or Merivale locations and the dinning rooms certainly look busy... I went in w a friend for dinner on a Friday night. It was packed, there was a line, we had to wait for a table. We got seated pretty quick and the friend I dined with really enjoyed going previously. Serata ad Ottawa durante il nostro tour tra Ontario e Quebec. Stanchezza da viaggio e da fuso orario, scegliamo questo locale vicino al nostro hotel. Piuttosto piccolo ed anche caotico, ci dicono che bisogna aspettare circa 20'; ci sediamo e consultiamo il menù: pollo in tutte le varianti possibili per la griglia! We came here with friends and family for lunch because we've heard good things about this particular restaurant chain. Our expectations were exceeded dramatically. First off, this isn't your average restaurant. It's a Mozambican-Portuguese style restaurant and they are known for their peri-peri chicken. I had a peri-peri wrap for lunch and I could say with certainty that it was the best wrap I've ever had. Tender chicken with their rally good sauce from South Africa. Great service, great food and would recommend for couples, business, friends and family outings.

I am so curious of thia resto.Because some of my friends posted this in social media. We came there as family to tried their food.And we were surprised that it was full of people inside.But the manager/owner was so helpful to find us a table and he even find us extra chair foe our toddler.That was so welcoming.The food is superb. Esp.the chicken barbeque type.This is the kind of chicken I've been looking for a long time ago since I moved in Ottawa.I recommend this place to my friends already.And most of them tried the menu already and loved it. I ate here twice and enjoyed it both times. Each time I had a 1/4 roast chicken with different sides. It was a lively place with all sorts of different ethnicities enjoying the food. On arrival, there are no reservations, you are directed to a numbered table with a menu. Having decided your order, you walk to the order desk to place it, and fairly soon it is waiter delivered. At another table one finds the utensils and condiments one desires. The quality of the food is good and service is very pleasant. I would go back there.

Bon, on arrive un soir très occupé car c'était dans le secteur de "La Machine" le samedi soir. Donc, le Resto est plein. Attente de 30 minutes (ok, compte tenu de l'événement) pour avoir notre table, mais là on doit se lever à nouveau et aller commander debout au comptoir encore en ligne 15 minutes, aller chercher notre propre breuvage, nos sauces, etc. Plus de Sangria quand j'arrive pour commander, plus de thé glacé, 7up... La seule chose que j'ai vraiment aimé ce sont les tartelettes portugaises, les "Nantas" je crois.

Terrible service and food. We were outside (no more space inside): it was noisy, the food was cold (fries OK but skewers were cold). Chairs outside are also terribly uncomfortable. Watery sangria. Very dry chicken. Really rude waitress - who cares about customers after all?...More

I went to Nando's two times in August and their food is always delicious. I ordered a leg, mashed potatoes and coslaw. Their portuguese buns are amazing, especially when it is hot with some added butter. Réservez une table maintenant

Stopped by for a quick bite. it was okay, just not a must do food option. Felt like a fast food chain.

Lived in South Africa a while back and found Nanos. This place was even better. Love the period peri.
