After a short stroll from the pier, we were welcomed by the restaurant's charming ambiance and warm hospitality, enhanced by the beautifully manicured gardens surrounding the inn and restaurant. Upon our prompt arrival, the staff left no detail overlooked, providing exceptional service. The table settings and antique tablecloths, illuminated by soft candlelight as the sun set, created a lovely atmosphere for our meal. Kudos to the chef for crafting an exquisite seasonal menu brimming with fresh produce, meat, fish, and other local ingredients from the island and coastal Maine. I celebrated my birthday dinner there, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The appetizer was messy finger food, and the main course, grilled cauliflower, was burnt around the edges while being undercooked in some parts. The drinks were enjoyable, but the portions were small. Overall, it was far from the amazing meal I had envisioned. The service was inconsistent, and my water was not refilled. On a positive note, the ambiance was delightful, particularly the outdoor garden area, which was especially charming.
Over the top dining. We came over here to celebrate nainais birthday. The staff made us feel like home and served us really well. It was hot if you come around 4pm. The sun can get you directly which is a bit unbearable so that’s one tiny complaint I have. The owner could easily build a blind on the porch and that would be solved. Just be aware that if you are coming around that time, better get seats inside. The food here is one of the best I have had in the world. The taste, the presentation and ambiance.
My family took a boat from Rockland to enjoy a wonderful dinner on Nebo’s porch to celebrate our mom’s birthday. Everything was perfect, from the friendly and attentive service to the beautiful boat rides both ways (at 4 PM and 7:30 PM). The menu is always changing, so it's hard to recommend a specific dish, but no one in our group was let down by what they ordered. If the Toffee Sticky Pudding is available, be sure to try it! The group of eight of us had four different selections with three of the four rating their dinners as just bland; one rated their dinner as very good, one as fair and the other three as good.
