We had lunch at the Neerim South Pub yesterday on a day out in Gippsland. A friend had suggested we stop there for lunch because why have an open fire...she is a good friend. The weather was cold, the wind was blowing and when we walked into the warmth of the dining area with its open fire and expansive views we knew we had made a good decision to stop here for lunch.The menu was very good, with a Seniors Menu, specials board and desserts board (a selection of about 8 desserts) as well as the usual menu. The food was very nice, the service was very slow, we had booked in so they knew we coming, I had less people than what I had booked for, we had traveled well over an hour to get there, the drive was nice, due to the slow service, we had to get our desserts as take away as we needed to get back. We were a bit disappointed about the time it took, even when I had gone up to the counter to enquire about the desserts, it was still another 10 or so minutes, not really satisfactory really.
Very good pub meal, I was impressed that the bartender without hesitation did not give me the end of a bottle and opened another. Meal and bar prices pretty standard. Good seating, fantastic view for lunch.
The ambiance near the warm fire is delightful! The restaurant is kid-friendly, able to accommodate various dietary restrictions, and the staff is extremely friendly.

I had reserved this restaurant for a work dinner, received two confirmation texts, and arrived to find the restaurant closed. I was extremely disappointed.
We had a delightful lunch at this restaurant. My steak was incredible and the service was outstanding! We will definitely be coming back.
Visited on a Wednesday night. Fire was on and extremely inviting. Food was plentiful and tasty. Love the dukkah and breads.
