Ok so…..WOW! I’ve heard about this restaurant had been curious about trying. I finally did today it was amazing, especially for it to be a a Grubhub order. I did the poblano relleno as an appetizer. I love that they didn’t “simp” on it. It could be a meal on its own. It was very balanced- nothing overwhelmed anything else. Great cheese pull on the pepper itself! Great flavor! Rice, the dashes of sour cream a bit of brightness from the cilantro- bites were perfect! The only thing that would’ve elevated it a bit more was a good splash of lime! If you are in Rochester, New York, don’t miss stopping in at the Neno’s on Monroe Ave! Coming from out of town, I haven’t had authentic Mexican food like this in a very long time and everything was absolutely delicious! We are definitely coming back here whenever we are in the area. The service by our server Robinson was exceptional; he went above and beyond with his attentiveness and personable personality. I would highly recommend the elote, both the fish and the shrimp tacos, and the OJ margarita. Very clean restaurant as well.
2024/09/07 It's our anniversary today and we both wanted really good Mexican for lunch... another great visit with Neno's! Really good service and amazing food... a definite gem of Rochester. ORIGINAL REVIEW So I was really wanting Mexican today and needed to go into ROC for a Lowe's visit. Found Neno's on Maps and was close enough... so we decided to give it a try. Not your Typical Street Tacos . The flavor is incredibly gooood!! I stopped in for tacos to go, and when I finally started eating them, it was a good 40-45 mins of them sitting in their to-go container. Not one taco was destroyed, disfigured, soggy or broken. The crispy crunch raito to soft tender meat was on point. Their sauce/salsa complemented the flavors of the meat. Definitely, most definitely going back soon 4.4 for sure ! We celebrated our youngest’s 9th birthday party here and, as usual, Neno’s did not disappoint! Typically we order takeout and love the birria tacos as well as the nachos. Everything on the menu is really good though. Most recently we dined in and they truly helped make her birthday celebration a special one…including one heck of a sparkler. Don’t sleep on this place. It’s great.
This was my first visit, and everything was outstanding. Our waiter, Robinson, was fantastic—he really knew the menu and guided us as we selected our entrees. I had the best margarita I've ever tasted in a restaurant; they even use Reposado tequila in their house margarita. The mole was divine! We will definitely be returning.
We are new to the area and craving solid Mexican food. This place came recommended by some coworkers. My wife is Mexican and from Southern California so we were skeptical. However, this place delivered! We love the Al Pastor Torta and the burritos on homemade tortillas. We will be coming back!!!
Food was absolutely delicious. I’ve had a veggie burrito, amazing. The burrito bowl is also really good. But the fried green tomato torta has to be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
