My family lived in Livingston for many years, passed by this place countless times and moved out of Livingston but have never been to Nero's. We decided to give it a try for my mom's 73rd birthday. I was a little nervous because the mixed reviews. First, it's a beautiful establishment with both indoor and outdoor seatings. Second, the service is great. I made a reservation for today but for some reason it was put in for next Sunday. They quickly put a table for us for 9 people. Now the food, it is decent but I do agree with other reviews that for the price you pay, it could be better. We asked for medium rare for our ribeye but it was well-done. Maybe it was the holiday season, but service was slow and noise level was annoyingly high. Food and wine were excellent (as always) but 20+ for a glass of Greek white wine feels like inflation has hit the Nerai economy in a way that really killed the buzz...
Food was excellent...and service, once seated, was crisp and fine. Sadly we were seated well after our arrival and reservation time. We were made to feel like this was our fault. The entry area isn't big enough and makes the wait extremely uncomfortable.
This was my second time to Nerai but the first for dinner. We had fantastic fresh fish grilled octopus to start and dover sole and halibut for our entrees. Great service and a lovely bottle of wine in a gorgeous white tablecloth setting.
