This is one of the strangest reviews ever written. We have been driving past this place for years and didn't know what was inside. We have been looking for good Chinese food in the Keller area since 2003. We tried New China on a recommendation from a friend. That recommendation also came with a caveat. Don't eat in the restaurant. Take it to go. Well, we didn't heed the advice, but now I pass along the same words. Eat New China. Just take your food to go. The dining room is horrible. The tables are sticky and the decor is from the 80s. The trash can in the restaurant was too full to close. The fountain drinks were flat. Everything is very old and past worn out. New China, located at the border of Watauga and Keller, was a pleasant surprise on my first visit. I called in an order for three lunch specials, including an Iron Roll, Shrimp Lo Mein, Kung Po Chicken with peanuts, and Chicken with cashew nuts. The dishes were flavorful and fresh, with generous portions. My order was ready on time and I was in and out of the restaurant quickly. I left feeling satisfied and eager to try more items from their extensive menu. I would definitely recommend giving New China a try.
For the local area, I highly recommend this Chinese for takeout specifically. The dine in area is dark and drab, but the food is made quickly, tastes delicious, and is really fresh upon pickup. Be sure you know what you want to order from the one menu before calling. They want your order without questions about additional menu options or many changes. I'll definitely keep ordering takeout from here.
Best Chinese cuisine in the city, I am from top to north and this is the next place I can find from the north taste. Everything is tasty and tasteful, it really surprises me because I expected only ok food, but everything I ordered so far is filled with taste! I only add the shrimp and broccoli photo, but I also had other things as I said it is all tasteful!
