We took out food from Happy swan Yesterday. One of my Spring rolls was so greasy that it stuck to the paper bag it came on ,leaving some of it's outer skin behind. Tasty it was not. There was also hardly any meat in there a far, far cry from the fantastic spring rolls they used to do.The duck ones used to be even better. The Singapore noodles were ok, but nothing special whatsoever. This assessment stands also in description of the lamb in satay sauce, vegetarian mini spring rolls, fried rice and the other noodle dish we had. All in all this means that we are now most likely looking for a new Chinese restaurant to go to/order from. There is one about 200 metres away from happy swan. Maybe th...

The service was friendly and polite. Unfortunately the food was very below par the mixed seafood starter was drenched in oil. The squid was rubbery. Our main course was so poor, and full of cheap ingredients mixed seafood in chilli sauce had baby prawns, rubbery poorly prepared squid and cut crab sticks. The sauce tasted like cheap chilli sauce from a bottle. The chilli beef was too sweet and inedible. The rice was the meanest portion we’d ever seen. The mixed veg had hardly any variety just cheap carrots, onion and tiny bits of broccoli. The bamboo shoots seemed to be from a tin. We came in hungry and left barely satisfied. My drink was flat. Later we learnt that the business is due to clos...

This used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant/takeaway, but that has changed since my last experience (takeaway). I asked for singapore noodles without meat but with tofu instead. They charged extra for it without telling me. I complained but the waitress didn't do anything about it. The noodle was soggy and tasteless. The vegetable sweet and sour was a disaster. Just a few vegetables swimming in the sea of disgusting sauce; lots and lots of horrible sauce that was either cheaply bought or made. It is absolutely unacceptable that they charge 4.20 for that. This used to be a good place with a reliable customer service and tasty food. It is clear that something has changed and they stopped c...

I ordered spring rolls, chicken with cashew nuts, prawns kung po, and special fried rice. The quality was very poor, with an unappealing vinegary sauce on the spring rolls and a breaded prawn that was difficult to identify. The chicken had a sharp taste and lacked cashew nuts, and the special fried rice was very stingy. I used to frequent this restaurant when they offered 'all-you-can-eat' Sundays and remembered it to be better than average. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I paid over £20 for a subpar meal and regret not choosing a different restaurant on Saturday night. Réservez une table maintenant

Our order took so long to come. When I rang to find out where the food was the first time the lady said 15 mins (it had already been over an hour) the food still didn’t come, I rang and the lady said it was out to delivery. The food didn’t arrive for another 40 mins and was cold when it finally got to us. I was also told they don’t normally except orders from where I live…..which clearly wasn’t my call….and it was Christmas. Really bad service and very average food. Would recommend you to avoid!

I’ve passed this restaurant may times, always put off by the tired looking exterior and opting for other nearby restaurant. This time we tried New Happy Swan, a prime example of never judging a book by its cover. Everything was excellent. The service friendly, prompt and attentive. Every dish we ordered was superb, great portion sizes, great flavours perfect! Really wish we’d tried this restaurant ages ago. Definitely our new preferred Chinese (despite the questionable exterior).

OK so everyone will tell you that the chinese just round the corner from them is the best and you have to try it... but this is the best and you have to try it ; I've been here a few times and the service is always really friendly but they are rushed off their feet with hundreds of takeaways. The decor is a bit shabby and could use an update but it shouldn't put you off. The Seaweed and the crispy duck are great and prices are very reasonable. Perfect saturday night takeaway

I have been a customer of this Chinese restaurant for several years and I appreciate the family-style cooking. The food is delicious and simple Chinese fare. The decor is reminiscent of the 1970s, but I find it charming and unique. Nowadays, most orders are for takeout, with the option to use the Hungry House app for delivery. I usually order the same dishes every time, including plain noodles, special fried rice, and garlic king prawns. Réservez une table maintenant

Made an order which amounted to £21.70. My special fried rice was nothing much but white rice with green peas Very disappointed in the food service and delivery took well over an hour. Would never recommend this place to any who like s Chiense food. I'm English and could have made a better attempt at the food. Poor poor poor.
