New staff ! The staff were fantastic. We booked our table online. Greeted promptly and taken to our table. A lovely lady (from South Africa I think) Was very welcoming asked if we would like drinks before making out choice from the new menu. The new menu has plenty to choose from for all tastes. Our food arrived piping hot and presented very well. We were checked on after a short while making sure everything was satisfactory. The food was excellent. The desserts where delightful with a little extra surprise added for a birthday a candle!
Sadly we will not be returning as although we have eaten there multiple times, last time the steak was not edible, which they refunded, we went tonight thinking last time just unlucky but the steak was worse. The waitress said they would refund, when the man came to clear plates he said “twice now maybe you should order something else” This was quite rude upsetting, if steak is on the menu you presume it will be edible. If that comment had been made before the plates were cleared I would have taken pics.
What happened to the New Inn, it used to be so good and enjoyed for years by my family and friends? Now very disappointing. Arrived at 8:25 pm and told kitchen closed already. When I mentioned the website said that kitchen closed at 9pm, I was curtly told that last food orders were 8:30 pm and that was shown on the website. Incorrect. Very unpleasant and hostile attitude. We went to the Farrington Village Inn who were happy to take food orders right up to the time the kitchen 'closed '.
Food was good. It wasn't overly busy when we were there. The service wasn't great, they dis have a sign to say they were understaffed but there was no excuse to keep walking past our table and not clear it or ask if we wanted desserts. We had to ask them to clear table and still no one asked us we wanted dessert. We did but left without having any. Waiters attitude was a lot to be desired. Would I go back probably NOT!

We came here Saturday for a family meal, food excellent, staff really friendly can't do enough for you, enjoyed it so much, went back Sunday for a roast dinner excellent food again, was really busy because of fathers day but the staff again really helpful and polite, would highly recommend this pub, keep up the good work see you all again soon
I live in Bath, and find the daily drive out to the New Inn, very enjoyable. The team, headed by Mike and Tasha are very receptive to changes in numbers and last minute alterations. All the staff pull the most consistent quality pint of beer in the area. The food is always of a high quality and I would thoroughly recommend a visit
Lovely staff lovely food great experience we were a family of 18 we done a pre order the whole experience was amazing no complaints staff were very accommodating very polite great service will deffo reccomend if you are looking for a lovely meal nice beer garden with a park for kids nice big car park
Met for afternoon coffee as a convenient location. sadly no-one there to work the machine. I don 't drink instant. Opted for lime and sodas, asked for Angostura bitters to be advised (with a laugh) this is a pub not a cocktail bar.....
