Someone else wrote traditional fish and chips if that 's what you 're after and gave a score of 3/5. I 'd agree with the description but give 'em 5/5! A chippie with a queue is a good thing because locals know where to go. You have to wait here for a little while but it 's not unreasonable. When your food arrives it 's as fresh as you could wish for and you 've just watched it being cooked. They take the skin off the fish! That makes a big difference to some of us. Carefully prepared. Freshly made and perfectly cooked chips came in a neat and easy to use paper hat. Nice and crisp with lots of flavour. The option to salt and vinegar them myself allowed me to season perfectly to my taste. No need to ask for a wooden fork, just help yourself. Outside seating available and the locals seem to like to use the low wall as a seat which makes the whole experience more authentic. I didn't get to try anything other than chips from the menu, but I hope to try more options soon.
As expected. Portions are really big. Fish well cooked. Nice thing is you can order and go in the park nearby to eat. I put 3 for ambiance because it is a takaway (so this rating means nothing) store so I can't really rate. Point of improvment : maybe fry the chips a little bit more.
