Nielsen's Frozen Custard

Their custard was divine! It was so incredibly creamy and smooth. We absolutely loved our chocolate custard shake with brownies and raspberries. The chocolate, peanut butter, Oreo shake was also good, but richer. The burger we got was ok, and the grilled cheese was basic (though we did get it without onions which probably would have made it more interesting), but the fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. They were bigger than your average fry, and the inside was perfectly fluffy and the outside crispy! So delicious. The intercom is really bad in the drive thru to take orders, they can never hear you. After waiting 20 minutes, I got my frozen custard that was running down my fingers and melting at a rapid speed all over my car. I saw the girl coming out with it and I asked for a lid and she said they didn’t have time. The frozen concrete was warm. I pulled over and threw it away in the nearest dumpster. We also got fries, and they were under fried if you can believe it, had a weird starchy cold taste to them.

I really like this new location. It has a full meal selection with burgers, fries, etc. I am sure they are just wonderful but the concrete custard shakes are awesome. I had the strawberry and pineapple. Same quality as the original location I used to go on Highland Dr. I don’t have to wait in a long line with my car backed up out into traffic either.

Slowest service ever. 45 minute wait for a cup of custard. They had no rhyme or reason to handing out orders. Customers that delivered way after me got theirs first, even after I asked the workers about it. But .. . Delicious custard.

We LOVE LOVE this place! It's custard not ice cream btw... thick and creamy. Great old school vibe with a park for the kids across the street.
